Long time, no talk!
So much has happened since my last blog post. Over the past few weeks, I’ve learned so much about the ins and outs of strategy and media planning. I’ve been busy developing insight-based strategies through interpreting quantitative and qualitative data points and also assisting with creating the media plans and decks by inputting data and calculating the budget planning specific programs.
While I am learning a lot, I've also learned that my passion doesn’t lie in creating strategies but rather turning those strategies into the consumer language and something that touches the audience and that’s when I realized my passion was really with art direction. However, I am not letting this discovery let my internship go to waste. I am extremely grateful for this experience and that I get to discover where my passion lies early on in my career. I intend to learn as much as I can and utilize my strategy and media planning knowledge to become a better art director. In order to succeed in any group project, you must learn the dynamic of the group and how each member works, in this case disciplines.
As the deadline approaches, my team and I are wrapping up on our Disney Dreamers Academy pitch. I got to develop the strategies for the campaign as well as develop the art direction and create the creative elements. Seeing everything that my group has worked so hard on come together has been so rewarding and satisfying. I can’t wait to work on more collaborative projects! It is so cool to see so many creative and insightful individuals collaborate to make a project that can make a huge impact. As my internship comes to an end, I am so excited to see what the future holds. Thank you to MAIP and Zenith for believing in me and to allow me to discover my niche in advertising. I am eternally grateful! Be sure to connect with me on Linkedin or frequent my website to stay updated on what I am up to.

Introductions and such... 💌

Hi, world!
I am Tram Cu. I am 21 years old, a rising senior at the University of Florida studying Advertising and Art. I was born in Vietnam but grew up in Alaska and moved to Florida when I was 14. Before my encouter with advertising, I felt lost and unsure of what I wanted to do. I was interested in all topics such as medicine, computer science, fashion, art, engineering, and more. But after feeling unsatisfied with my pre-med track classes, I found advertising and have never looked back. While I am still exploring the different diciplines within advertising, I hope to make meaningful and impactful work that tells stories, re-imagines design, and makes space for marginalized communities.
I am currently pursuing a Strategy internship at Zenith Media, a Publicis Media company, through the 4’s Foundation and MAIP. MAIP stands for Multicultural Advertising Internship Program, an internship and fellowship program that provides real-world work experience, training and development, and networking opportunities within the industry to multicultural talent such as myself! So far, the fellowship has consisted of a three-month Virtual Spring Training, Orientation, and MAIP Labs. These trainings give us an overview of the industry and its different disciplines and well as prepare us for life at the agency.
My host agency, Zenith Media, is an ROI media agency under the Publicis Groupe umbrella. Zenith Media has offices all around the US and the world. I am currently interning at the Atlanta office remotely from Florida. Publicis Groupe is one of the largest communications companies in the world. Getting the chance to intern and learn from world-class professionals at Publicis is such an amazing opportunity and I am eternally grateful. I am looking forward learning and gaining experience working this summer! I will be in #spongemode and try to absorb as much information as I can.
So far, my experience at Zenith has been nothing short of amazing! I am so lucky to be able to work on such a cool account with such a welcoming and supportive team! All the people I’ve met so far at Publicis and Zenith have gone out of their way to support me and cheer me on. This is my first time interning at a corporate office so I was very intimidated at first. Gowever, I can confidently say that I’ve enjoyed every moment at Zenith so far. I love that Zenith has pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to challenge myself.
As the summer progresses, I will continue to update you guys on my blog! I am excited to see what's to come and where life takes me next on my advertising journey! Again, I want to thank MAIP and Zenith for allowing me to jumpstart my career in the advertising industry in such a welcoming and enriching environment and community.
